Established March 14, 1592
Frustrated by a lack of nap time and creative opportunities, Major George Meowington stole a canoe and abandon the Roanoke Colony in North Carolina, on Christmas Eve 1591. He made his way North, bartering as he went with the local native population. The natives never viewed him as a threat due to his tendency to smoke large quantities of Marijuana and nap frequently.
Eventually he made his way up the Lamprey River. There he built a treehouse and declared himself King of Meowington. Legend has it, that on certain moon lit nights you can still hear the marijuana induced coughs of George Meowington echoing off the river.
